OUR VALUES
OCTOBRIS is a romantic and, at the beginning, utopian project rooted in the centuries-old family tradition of Los Muntanya. It emerged on a chilly, cold winter afternoon next to the fire in 2014. Luis, the eldest of the grandchildren, remembers how his grandfather Miguel suggested him to recover the origins of oil production, taking it to the 21st Century. Luis spoke then with his father Vicente and his brother Ximo. The three of them got involved on making this project a reality.
Tradition
Maintaining family farming and helping small local neighbors, having a collaborative relationship with the local oil mill and with the aim to give an added value to everything rural. Creating wealth so that olive groves are not abandoned while respecting the philosophy of our ancestors, who already produced oil for centuries; prioritizing quality over quantity.
Technology
Using advanced technology and pioneering processes to offer a product with the quality, food safety and respect for the environment required by the Organic Farming Committee of the Valencian Community and by the the most demanding customers.
Sustainability
Making that the entire project contribute to sustainability thanks to a revolutionary packaging and logistics system that improves oil quality, food safety while reducing the carbon footprint and environmentally improving both the process and the final product.
Tradition
For generations, Muntanya family has been cultivating their hundred-year-old olive trees on the Rambla del Panadero. The olive tree was essential for the family sustenance, which was complemented with cereals, wine and fruit trees. Grandfather Miguel along with his son also bet on new types unknown in the area in the 90’s. They were pioneers in organic production while using new irrigation and cultivation techniques. The Muntanya family want to maintain and defend the family farming before overexploitation, traditional farming versus super-intensive one, the well done work before quantity. We want to support decent work so that people can continue living off the land like their ancestors. To avoid the abandonment of olive groves, since doing it will lose a way of life, a way of fighting against climate change, a product of supreme quality and, ultimately, our roots and traditions.
Now they go further, bringing to market their own brand, OCTOBRIS. So that the customer can enjoy a good olive oil in his day-to-day life, as has always been in Muntanya’s home; on toasts, salads, meals and desserts.

From the use of humidity and nutrient sounding lines to optimize irrigation and the environment in the olive grove; the production by cutting-edge machinery to improve the quality and food safety of the oils; up to the most revolutionary packaging.
Technology as an ally to improve each stage in the production line and in the most important aspects, such as the environment and the biosphere, to end up in the final product: our OCTOBRIS oils.

SUSTAINABILITY
Muntanya family wanted to build the OCTOBRIS oils project seeking for sustainability in each phase.
Pioneers in the cultivation of organic olive groves since the 90’s, they wanted to go further by doing a global sustainability project helping to maintain the farming of the neighbors of La Canyada, making PREMIUM ORGANIC EVOO profitable, making possible living off the land and defending the small fields that surround our town and which are part of our environment and ecosystem.
The entire project contributes to sustainability thanks to a revolutionary packaging and logistic system that improves oil quality and food safety also reducing the carbon footprint and improving in environmental terms both the process and the final product.
The OCTOBRIS Extra Virgin Olive Oil project contributes to the health of people and the planet, from the cultivation and care of the olive grove to the distribution of the oil and the management of the empty container thanks to the original appearance of the Bag in Box solution in order to promote social change in the way we consume oil.
Bag-in-Box Advantages
This system helps to counter-attack the 3 risks that oil has: heat, light and oxygen.
